Good news – we have been accepted onto Bath’s pioneering sustainable technologies innovation programme! It’s the UK’s first business acceleration hub dedicated to supporting the growth of green technologies.
The programme is funded by the European Regional Development Fund, and delivered by the University of Bath Research & Innovation Service with support from Low Carbon South West. Thanks to this support, business and technology experts are helping us to create a bespoke programme to support AleTrim’s further research and development.
We are now dispatching a number of sample requests, and are already getting some great feedback. For example, a recent cask ale trial at the Five Lamps in Derby, saved 20 pints of ale over four days with just two AleTrim devices.
In September, we took AleTrim to Munich for drinktec 2017
In September 2017, we launched AleTrim at drinktec in Munich, the world’s leading trade fair for the beverage and liquid food industry.
What a show it is! Drinktec takes place just once every four years, and covers absolutely everything you can imagine relating to all types of drink, not just beer.
We ended up in Hall 9 of 14 in the ‘Craft and Homebrew corner’ and set up our stand displaying our range of AleTrim laminar flow nozzles, which you can see in the image above.
An amazing number of people from all over the world came to find us at our stand after hearing about what we do. We had some great conversations with people in all areas of the beer industry.
We also had a surprising level of interest from people looking for smart dispensing for a diverse range of other products, not just beer. It is now obvious that the issue of waste is global, and not just limited to the beer industry. I think the winner of the most unusual enquiry came from someone who wanted to use AleTrim as udders for an auto-dispensing plastic cow!
We met some great publicans from the UK who agreed to sign up for full field trial. And the real highlight was the enthusiasm that came from a number of international brewers.
All in all, drinktec was a great experience, and helped us to make some fantastic contacts in the industry.
With four years to go until the next drinktec, we have some time to think about what we might do next time, and to explore other trade shows in the beer industry.
It was a great honour to appear as an exemplar of UK micro-manufacturing.
We were honoured that AleTrim was selected to feature in the 2017 Parliamentary Review, which showcases manufacturing excellence in the UK.
Being asked to appear in the 2017 Parliamentary Review is a great recognition of our contribution to UK exports and manufacturing. It has always been important to us that we make and assemble our products in the UK, not only to guarantee quality in both product and service but also to be in full control of the environmental impact of what we are producing and shipping.
As a result, we are delighted that the team in the House of Commons bar wanted to try out AleTrim! One of the best features from their perspective is that AleTrim can deliver both northern and southern pour styles. With MPs from all around the country dropping in for a pint when they’re in Westminster, naturally there are two camps when it comes to pouring preferences. Thankfully AleTrim can do both! We look forward to seeing how the trial goes.
